Are you Swap/Trade Friendly?

We at My Texas Friends are ramping up the Promoting fun by starting our first Promo Swap. You will notice a poll on the left sidebar of this page and we hope that everyone will vote yes or no.

My Texas Friend Promo Swap Leader, Corkycrafts, is heading up this opportunity for everyone who participates in the My Texas Friends Forum Thread.

For those of you who have not read her post explaining the Promo Swap and how it works, here it is:

More information about swap/promo -
The promo swap is easy – people send a sample item you wish to help promote your shop. You can send coupons, fliers, for example if you make beads - small bag w/1 bead enclosed w/your business card, lots of ideas to help promote your shop. When I participated the cost was $7.00 for shipping. Everybody paid to 1 person via paypal (best promo than purchasing an Etsy showcase) These items will be put into packets and redistributed to those that contributed. When I participated I had a nice assortment of items that contained that had yarn samples, gift tags, pins, buttons, scrubbies, business card magnets, coupons, when I participated it was great exposure to my shop plus also promoted sales.

If anybody is interested in participating check out the poll.

My Texas Friends Wants to Feature You in 2011

Yes My Texas Friends, it's time to start scheduling our Meet and Greet Series again.

Those who have seen them before, every so often we'll feature someone who posts in the My Texas Friends forum threads located in the Etsy Forums. We do not want to leave Anybody out this year.

Here is how it works- We post your Etsy Mini here on the blog along with some information from your Etsy profile and anything else you would like for our readers to know.. like if you are having a sale during the time your feature is running, or if you do custom work, appearing at any craft shows, etc.

This will be a first come first served buffet line. Please either leave a comment here or in our monthly thread or as a third option, contact me via Etsy Conversation  aka "convo" so I can add you to the schedule.

2011 is going to be an outstanding year for My Texas Friends!

Poll is Closed

I would like to thank everyone who voted in our recent poll to decide if our humble group should become an official Etsy Team. The Results are:
8 for yes
0 for no
2 for Not Sure

In January, we'll start gathering the information necessary to make this group an official team.

Here is what we'll need to establish
http://www.etsy.com/teams/create
According to
http://www.etsy.com/policy/dosdonts#community_teams

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I started the My Texas Friends as a Promo Thread and it has turned into so much more.
Contact me or visit our monthly Promo thread to discuss what you, My Texas Friends, want this group to be.

Every time I (Rich) made something for a birthday, wedding, holiday or anniversary gift, I was asked why don’t you do this as a business. After searching different venues, I ran across etsy.com. I liked that this website was catered to handmade items. So, this is where I decided to start.

I (Rich) have been woodworking as a hobby for around 15 years now. I am married, have 4 daughters, 1 grand-daughter and 1 grand-son. The other half is a good friend of mine (Kenny) and now apprentice, his girlfriend has her 4 daughters. This is how we came up with our name (Out Numbered Novelties).

At present we do not have a workshop to work in (someday hope to remedy that), so all of our tools have to be taken outside and when finished brought back in.

You will see both works from Kenny and myself, as w...

Bio

Thanks for stopping by our shop! I love Etsy! Imagine being able to market your items to people around the world! And such a friendly atmosphere!

I have always loved to make things! You can be sure that everything in this shop is handmade with quality materiel and careful workmanship. I enjoy using recycled materiel for my bags. Finding the fabric & creating a design for it is a challenge, but I love the process.

I also like using recycled materiels in my mosaics. I like to use shells & sea glass that I have collected from the fabulous Texas Gulf Coast. I also like to use broken dishes.

My partner in The Yellow Roses is my daughter. She is a single mother of three. She has always helped design the bags. But now that her 2 boys are in school and only the little princess is at home, she will h...

Her Bio on Etsy:

Bio

My name is Kimberly DuBois and i live on beautiful Lake Whitney in Texas. I wasn't born here but I now call it home. I was born in Pennsylvania and lived there most of my life. Seven years ago i met a great guy online who lived in Texas. To my amazement, he married me and whisked me off to Texas. In the past seven years we have traveled the lower 48 states. I have seen it all thru the windshield of a Freightliner. 116 degrees in Blyth CA, zero visibility snow storms in Cleveland OH, ice storms in Evanston WY. The Walmart in Rifle CO, I 20 in Atlanta GA, cemeteries of New Orleans LA, and orange groves of Bradenton FL. I have experienced Phoenix, AZ at rush hour, a big roadrunner in Las Cruses NM, the George Washington Bridge in NYC, the beltway of Washington DC. and so much more. I love my country.
Yes I have created art in every state. I have Quilted, knitted, drawn and glued my way down Americas highways.
I am a great believer in recycling items for the sake of art.
I save bits of paper and fabric. i love art. I love the art on Etsy.
Bellavioletta is Italian for beautiful purple. Purple is my favorite color and I am Italian American so that's the special meaning of bellavioletta.

I believe in reusing materials from everyday life. I never toss out a scrap of fabric. The fabric postcards are made from bits of leftovers from sewing projects or upcycled fabrics. I used upcycled chipboard from cereal boxes, pop tarts, mac and cheese, etc..for the doe doe birds. The atc's are made on bases of used playing cards. I save wrapping paper, pretty boxes, unusual drink cans, gift bags, etc... In other words, anything that grasps my attention as potentially artworthy.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH A DOE DOE BIRD ??
(or any of my hand cut embellishments)

*journal pages
*bookmarkers-(add a ribbon)
*brooches-(add a pin back)
*pendants-(add a bail or punch a hole)
*gift tags-(punch a hole and add a ribbon)

*gift wrapping
and so much more

custom orders are welcome. I am convo friendly.

I add new items every few days so check back often!

EDCCollective carries an eclectic mix of items. Browse for handcrafted and vintage jewelry and accessories as well as photographic art and home decor.

EDCCollective began as a family of artisans/craft persons/collectors. My mom, our main collector passed away in Nov. of '09. So while the mix of items listed may change some, I will continue to offer quality hand crafted items as well as some vintage collectibles.

EDC's jewelry contains an eclectic range of materials including gemstones, crystal, glass, brass, vintage beads, wood, freshwater pearls, and feathers. A wide range of styles can be found and custom work is encouraged. My pieces contain either new or vintage components chosen for their individual beauty and combined appeal. While the majority of my listed pieces are silver or gold plated, I'd be happy to work with you to create a piece for you using sterling, GF, 14K gold or even leather. Please be sure to check out my unique product, "No-Hole" Gathering Pins.

Photographic art of nature in all its original splendor or digitally altered for a totally new look are also found in my offerings. These images are available, matted, in a variety of sizes for your wall as well as on note cards and bookmarks. Custom work is also available in this area.

Additional home decor items include pieces made from tree parts, otherwise destined for the landfill. These items include vases and candle holders.

EDCCollective is a branch of EclecticDesignChoices (EDC). Find EDC at eclecticdesignchoices.com , on Facebook, http://www.tinyurl.com/EDCFacebook , or our photo gallery at http://flickr.com/photos/eclecticdesignchoices/. If you see something there that you like that is available, we can list it on Etsy for you. If you see something that is no longer available or something from our sold section,
http://www.etsy.com/shop_sold.php?user_id=6886983 , that you like, contact us to see if we can do an Etsy custom listing for you. You can also read about the EDC custom design process, garden tips and more on my blog, http://eclecticdesignchoices.blogspot.com .

If you like the phrase, "When pigs fly..", please check out my other shop,
